In 2010, the Oxtail King himself arrived in the beautiful state of Utah from Texas due to Hurricane Harvey. With four sons to support in hard times, Les got creative in providing for his family.Instead of dining out on the dime, he started taking food to the pit and cooking up mouthwatering meals of chicken, brisket, and pulled pork sandwiches.The tantalizing aromas attracted the attention of people passing by, and they couldn't resist asking about the delicious food. Les saw an opportunity to bring his Texas heritage home to Utah and began selling his BBQ on the side of his 9-to-5. Determined to make everyone experience the joy of his perfected Texas-style BBQ, he took a leap of faith in 2022 and quit his job to expand his dream in serving the best Texas BBQ to everyone.That year, he had a breakthrough when he decided to smoke oxtails. It became an instant hit going viral on social media and converting thousands in online sales for those who wanted them sent to their order. He was officially crowned the Oxtail King.
